The Wilkes neighborhood in Northeast Portland is our next highlight. Central to Wilkes is Summerplace, a 55+ community that encompasses most of the area between NE Halsey and I-84 and between 148th to 162nd Avenues. Many of the homes in Summerplace are 2 bd + 2 ba SFR houses built in the 80s – 90s which include the use of the clubhouse with library, fitness center and pool as part of the HOA.
North of I-84 to Sandy Blvd., you have condominiums mixed with residential houses built from the 1970s – 2000s. If you prefer a 50s ranch you are also in luck as the Wilkes neighborhood has some superb examples of Mid-Century Modern design between NE Halsey and NE Glisan adjacent to Glendoveer golf course.
